The Markham Arts Council is an award-winning community organization dedicated to celebrating the diverse artistic talents of Markham. Through events, workshops and initiatives, we support local artists and encourage community engagement in the arts

We bring together, organize and promote events that showcase the creativity of the local arts scene. From high energy cultural celebrations and showcases to providing resources and networking opportunities, we cultivate a thriving environment for the arts in Markham.

As the only Arts Council in York Region, the Markham Arts Council holds a unique position as a hub for artistic and cultural expression.

Walk With Art

Art is calling — and this time, it’s leading the way. Each session follows a different piece, from gallery exhibitions to sculptures to live music, giving Markham’s seniors a fresh reason to get out, get inspired, and get social.

Seniors Postcard Exchange

On May 26th, Markham’s seniors traded more than just postcards, they shared stories, memories, and a little bit of art with every card. A sweet, simple way to connect across generations and celebrate creativity in bloom.

The Unionville Festival & Music on the Streets returns with an exciting lineup of live performances, local talent, vibrant community spirit, and unforgettable experiences across Main Street Unionville. From soulful acoustic sets and high-energy bands to family-friendly entertainment and interactive arts programming, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

This year, we’re bringing a fresh, youthful, and energetic vibe to the festival while continuing the tradition that has made Unionville one of Markham’s most beloved community celebrations.
