Alana Simon is a seasoned dance and theatre educator, currently raising her family in Markham. In fact, Alana’s family established the Thornhill School of Ballet which allowed her the opportunity to become an active and dedicated member of the community where she has participated in and continues to be involved in various outreach events and programs. 

She holds a Masters’s Degree in Dance Ethnology and an undergraduate degree in Cultural Studies for the Fine Arts from York University. 

In addition, Alana has also worked for many years in the development and marketing/events sector with the McMichael Canadian Arts Collection, the Menaka Thakkar Dance Company and various dance and theatre organizations in Toronto including Business for the Arts on their Canadian Arts Summit in Banff, Alberta.
