Sandra Tam is a long-time resident of Markham, a mother of three, a community advocate, and a seasoned business leader with over twenty years of public service experience. She has dedicated her career to growing her community, sustaining local businesses and building relationships on a local and global scale.
During her tenure as Markham’s Senior Business Development Officer, Sandra worked with her team at Cit of Markham and community business members to focus their efforts on the “Global Markham” strategy, which propelled Markham into an internationally recognized leader for talent, innovation, diversity and equity.
Currently, besides running her own consulting business, Sandra further serves her community as the Vice President of the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs and has been one of its senior executives for over 10 years. She also volunteers as the PR Officer of the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham, and Secretary of the Asian Culinary Arts Association of Canada.
As a treasured grandmother, Sandra loves the greenery, parks and the community of Markham that she called home for the last thirty years. Sandra’s goal is for Markham to be a diverse, equitable, vibrant, multicultural innovation hub and the best place to live, work and play for generations to come.
