Therapeutic Arts

Therapeutic Arts is a group therapy program that’s offered by the Markham Arts Council. This program is designed to use making art as a tool to address metal and emotional challenges. Through creative processes, participants can enhance self esteem, self awareness, and cognitive functions, while also gaining insights and improving overall well-being. These small group sessions are open to adults of any age and location since it is a virtual session. The main focus of Therapeutic Arts is to help individuals find calm amidst chaos. These sessions are conducted virtually throughout the year, led by a registered Art Therapist. This provides participants with opportunities to express, explore and understand their emotions by using various art mediums. First session is Thursday, May 30 – 10:30 – 11:30am EDT, conducted online.
