Volunteer Appreciation Event

In December, every year, Markham Arts Council celebrates a Volunteer Appreciation Event, where we recognize and thank those who have contributed their time, expertise and skills to the furthering of our mandate. The annual event is hosted at various locations within the City of Markham and is attended by our volunteers and members of the community.

Virtual Volunteer Appreciation Event (2020)

Markham Arts Council celebrated its fifth Annual Volunteer Appreciation Event. Due to COVID-19, this event was celebrated virtually. MAC Chair Deepti Aurora, Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Councillor Amanda Collucci and Prof Michaela Hynie from York University addressed the audience. MTAC Co-Chair Kimberly Yang received the Volunteer of the Year Award, and Mathu Vinayagam received the Outstanding Volunteer Award. All MAC volunteers who contributed to further our mandate in 2020 received a certificate.

Markham Arts Council celebrated its fourth Annual Volunteer Appreciation Event. The event was held in the Great Hall at the Markham Civic Centre. Keynote speaker at the event was the Dean of York University’s School of Art, Media, Performance and Design, Sarah Bay – Cheng. MTAC volunteers Ryan Wong and Vanessa Yu received the Volunteer of the Year Award. All other volunteers were awarded certificates for their contribution to MAC in 2019.
