Artist Unplugged Episode 64: Jenny Cheong & Sunny Choi

On this week’s episode of Artist Unplugged, we would like to present: Jenny Cheong and Sunny Choi
“Cellist Jenny Cheong (B.Mus, M. Div, MTS & M. Mus, DMA candidate) is the recipient of the Yo-Yo Ma Scholarship in 2002 and Music Scholarship in 2003 from Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. Jenny has performed as a soloist, a chamber musician, and a principal cellist with various orchestras and choirs in Toronto, Montreal, Korea, and in the U.S.A. Also, Ms. Cheong also is a multi-talented musician who is a pianist, organist and a conductor. She also has been a conductor of various choirs in all ages and youth orchestras since 1998.”

“Sunny Choi is a classically trained violinist based in Toronto, Ontario. She is well known for her extremely passionate and strong violin performance skills. Sunny’s ability to captivate and connect with her audience has drawn wide praise and acclaim.
A native of Seoul, South Korea, Sunny’s passion for music and the violin started at the young age of six and soon began honing her craft at the Yewon School, Seoul, South Korea. After relocating to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she had the privilege of studying under great violinists such as Gerard Kantarjian, Atis Bankas, and Mayumi Seiler who led her to the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Massachusetts.
At the New England Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Malcome Lowe and the late Masuko Ushioda, Sunny earned a scholarship and received both her Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music in Violin Performance degrees. After graduating, she moved to Chicago after earning a position at the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Illinois.”
