Toronto artist RAQUEL. has always been able to sing better than she could speak and has always found it easier to express herself and connect with others through her writing than anything else. Growing up in Scarborough, RAQUEL. was drawn to R&B and Hip Hop as some of the most emotional and expressive music she had ever heard. Folding in the sounds of her parents’ musical heroes, that played the soundtrack to her home life, RAQUEL.’s genre-bending take on Pop is distinctly her own, while her lyrical commentary on the human condition and emotion is bittersweet in its relatability.
RAQUEL. is currently pursuing her music degree at Humber College while writing, recording and performing her own body of work to be released within the coming year.
