Sylvia Chan, an Award-Winning artist, entrepreneur, and Ontario-certified teacher is dedicated to unleashing creative genius and maximizing individual potential. With over a decade of experience in painting and teaching, she owns and operates successful community art initiatives and studios in Markham. Sylvia is the founder of Creative Genius Academy, recognized as the best art school in Markham for five consecutive years. She also leads Paint a Smile, which in 2024 was renamed to Creative Children’s Society, a nonprofit providing art workshops for underprivileged children.

Sylvia holds a Bachelors of Education from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University, with additional studies at the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Her commitment to community engagement has garnered prestigious awards, including recognition in Canada’s Top 150 featured artists in 2017.

Beyond her entrepreneurial pursuits, Sylvia is an accomplished breakdancer, achieving notable successes in competitions such as Red Bull BC One Cypher Canada and Rise of Bgirls Exhibition. Her accolades include winning the Toronto Redbull BC One Cypher in April 2023 and reaching the Top 8 in the girl category at Red Bull BC One in Vancouver.
